Masterclass: Personality in Practice

04-Jul-08

Organised By: RCGP Events
Entrance Fee: RCGP Members: £175 Non Members: £220

Time: 09.30 - 16.30

Description: Ever wondered why you get along with some people that others can't stand? Or why that popular receptionist gets up your nose? Or what you might find fun to do other than seeing patients? Or even what potential you show for leadership? These questions frequently come down to issues of personality. So why not find out more about yours and how it affects other people and your work. In this Masterclass, Dr David Pendleton (a psychologist), who has been an observer of General Practice for years, will provide feedback and insights about personality in practice and in life. Participants will complete one or two psychological questionnaires in preparation for the workshop and they will be explained during the day. Sharing of profiles will be encouraged, since no profiles are good or bad: they merely have different implications. We will consider the implications also for patients, colleagues and others. Come prepared to give and receive feedback. Insight created in a supported environment is compelling. The Masterclass will be followed by an optional drinks reception, during which informal discussions can continue with Dr Pendleton. This is included in the delegate price.
