Pharmacy is the ‘front door' to healthcare

Community pharmacy is a cost-effective, accessible and innovative way of improving patient care heard delegates at the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) conference.
The 2006 PSNC Community Pharmacy Conference ran the theme of Learning from the Leaders, presenting leading edge pharmacy service to almost 300 delegates.
In a keynote presentation, Health Minister Andy Burnham identified community pharmacy as a vital piece of the health service and he welcomed the innovative new services and the pharmacy contract.
The Minister encouraged PCTs to use the opportunities presented by the pharmacy contract framework.
