The radioimmunotherapy technique involves loading antibodies for HIV-infected cells with a radioactive isotope. These then selectively kill HIV-infected cells.
The therapy was tested on HIV-infected blood cells and found that it targeted and killed the HIV-infected cells.
They then tested it on HIV-infected mice. A high dose of the therapy resulted in a drop in red blood cells, but a lower dose was efficient in killing the target cells.
