The new surgery, in the Heaton Park branch, will be staffed from 3 March by Doctors in Store, a private company headed by local GP Dr Mohammed Jiva.
As part of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale PCT's six-month extended hours pilot, it will offer appointments on Monday and Thursday evenings and for four hours on Saturday.
‘Patients' needs are changing and therefore we need to find ways of providing a more flexible and convenient service,' said Dr Jiva.
‘This offers them a service at a familiar location and at times when they can also do their shopping.'
