Capita is preferred bidder to run NHS Choices website

18-Jul-08

Capita, the UK's leading outsourcing company, is the DoH's preferred bidder for the NHS Choices contract for the next three years.

The NHS Choices website allows users to rate practices and their services but not named GPs.

NHS Choices was launched in June 2007 as the NHS’s online presence to provide patients, carers and the public with accurate and up-to-date health information.

The initial 18-month contract to establish and run the NHS Choices service was won by Dr Foster Intelligence. The contract is due to end next month.

The new contract is expected to begin in early autumn.
