Lansley urged to apologise to Glasgow

29-Aug-08

The Scottish Labour party has called on a leading Conservative to go to Glasgow and apologise after he suggested health funding should be cut there.

Conservative shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley told Reform earlier this week that less NHS funding should be spent in deprived areas and more where there were large elderly populations.

Margaret Curran, MSP for Glasgow Baillieston, said: ‘I am absolutely appalled that a senior member of the Conservative shadow cabinet should call for NHS cash to be taken from Glasgow.’
