Health workers who are members of Unite are to 'work to rule' on Wednesday 3 December, in protest at the 'derisory' three year pay deal imposed by the NHS.

The union's members will refuse to do any work not specified in their Agenda for Change contract.

The day of action was unanimously agreed by Unite's health committee on Friday, after its members voted three-to-one to strike.

If the government doesn't reopen the pay deal, the union says it will ratchet up its campaign of industrial action in January - ‘up to and including strike action.'

This year is the first of the three-year deal and is worth 2.75%. It is worth 8% in total.
